Elisa De Jonghe, 91, Of North Haledon

NORTH HALEDON, N.J. — Elisa De Jonghe, of North Haledon, died Nov. 28. She was 91.

Born in Lackawanna, N.Y., she lived in Paterson before moving to North Haledon 61 years ago. She was an assistant purchasing agent for International Wire in Wyckoff. She was a member of the North Haledon American Legion Post #9782 Ladies Auxiliary and the North Haledon Golden Age Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, Adolph Henry De Jonghe.

She is survived by her children, Mona Sappio and her husband Angelo, Raymond De Jonghe and his wife Amalia and Jeanne Goryeb and her husband Joe; grandchildren, Brian Sappio, Kristin Holtzman, Diane De Jonghe, Scott Goryeb, Anthony Roselli, Steven Roselli and Joey Goryeb; and great-grandchildren, Rudy, Madison and Ava Sappio and Taylor and Zachary Holzman; and siblings, Joseph Paz and the late Mani Van Schaik.

The family will receive family and friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. A funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Ave., Prospect Park. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to an animal charity or charity of choice.
